The .NET version of DicomObjects has been developed and tested over the last 6 years, and is already used in hundreds of applications around the world by over 50 developers. It may of course be used for any of the uses listed on the main DicomObjects page, and can be used in any environment which supports .NET objects. It is supplied as a CLR 2.0 assembly, which can be used in both Visual Studio 2005, 2008 & 2010, as well as any other environments which support the .NET framework.

Although functionally similar to the COM version, it makes full use of the .NET framework to provide enhanced facilities for multi-threading and extensibility.

Recent enhancements include:

• Pure native code to improve use in contstrained environments
• Full JPIP functionality (client and server)
• Enhanced encryption options (both network and file)
